Breathe and Enjoy the Wonder

christmas tree

Can you breathe and enjoy the wonder of these days of joy and light? Why do we allow this joyful time to become a time of stress? I understand wanting to find that perfect gift, the house decorated, cards sent, concerts, parties and the cookies baked but every year it seems we add new things to make more stress. I would like to declare we don’t need more traditions, but we need to stay present, to be mindful of all the beauty that is around us.

If you celebrate Christmas the birth of Jesus ” the Light of the World” or Hanukkah the “Festival of Lights” or the Winter Solstice it is about light and joy. It is about singing and believing that tomorrow there will be more light! Maybe this is the time of the year to make the intention to find a moment of peace. Before you say I don’t have a minute to stop and breathe! Remember that in 1914 the German and English soldiers took a little time to stop fighting and declared a Christmas truce. If in the midst of war they can stop we can accept the gift of time to breathe and enjoy the magic.

The wonder is really the joy of the lights and music everywhere, hearing from family and friends, people being a bit kinder, children believing in magic and adults that make magic. Today is Winter Solstice so tomorrow there will be more hours of light as we move toward summer. What would happen if we all believed that tomorrow there will even be more light, peace, love, joy than today?

Breathe,be mindful, let go of a few of the expectations and enjoy these days of joy, days of light!

I wonder if you let your mind dance?

I wonder if you let your mind dance? We are all learning the importance of quieting your mind and there are many ways you can do that like meditating, self-hypnosis, praying or chanting. There has been studies that tell us that 10 min of doodling has the same affect as meditating. I let my mind relax by playing the game “I Wonder” it is the way I let my mind dance!
I have been wondering about the trees and what kind of tree I would want to be if I was a tree. I have beautiful trees in my yard and I love the Grandma Willow that seems so resilient even when a tornado took her mate. She remains strong and flexible. She is the first to wake up in the spring with her yellow green leaves. The giant pine who has branches that dominate the side yard is a comfort in every season. The beauty of the winter snow on his branches is breathtaking. We have tall oak trees that stand at attention like a group of soldiers keeping my house and family safe. But this year I would like to be a red sugar maple. It appears that they are so vivid and alive as if they are laughing. I like to think they are such brilliant colors because of the sweetness that runs through their veins. You can’t have monkey mind when you play I wonder. Your subconscious loves the game and your conscious brain relaxes.
This Saturday I will share wonderful stories about Hawaii and the ancient studies of Huna, Aloha and Ho’oponopono. These studies may make you healthier and happier and definitely more peaceful. Come and play the I wonder game with me and calm your mind. Imagine the Hawaiian Islands before tourism. What did the ancient teachings teach us about healng our mind and our body? What can we do today to make ourselves stronger? I hope you will join me Saturday morning from 8:30-11:30 to let your mind dance. The cost is $40

What are the odds???

Did you ever wonder how safe we are? What are the odds we could be one of the victims on the evening news? I saw Senator Graham talk about ISIS on the evening news and it was very obvious he thinks the odds are good that terrorism is the end of the story for America . He was very upset and fearful, announcing that if we didn’t attack them that they were coming to kill all of us. Since then  I have heard many people making fearful remarks about terrorist and the danger we all subject too. At the beginning of this school year my daughter a teacher in Montana told me about training,  required to take concerning school shootings. Yesterday as I was  driving to Milwaukee for some stress management training and I wondered with all the cars on the road what are the odds you would die in a car accident?
Here are a few facts for the curious:
1. The odds of dying in a fatal car accident is 1 in 18,585
2 Dying in a school shooting in k-12 is 1 in 53,925  take high school out of the equation and it is 1 in 141,463
3. Dying in a plan crash is 1 in 500,000
4. In the last 5 years your odds as an American killed by a terrorist here or anywhere in the world has been 1 in 20 million.

However
1. 18% of all deaths in America are due to obesity, and 35% are obese!  1/3 of all Americans are over weight which increases your chances of cancer, heart disease and strokes.
2. Cigarettes are responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the US. 41,000 of those deaths are due to 2nd hand smoke. Cigarettes account for 1 in 5 deaths or 1300 deaths every day.
There is nothing I can do about ISIS.  I will leave that to my very brave military nephews and their friends that have chosen that line of work and who are well  trained. Terrorism Wins if we live in fear. That is the point, to terrorise us. Be brave, your odds Senator Graham of dying because of ISIS is 1 in 20 million but there is a 90% chance that you are making yourself sick with the stress your body is under going because of your fear. Be Brave Senator! Stress does kill. The National Institute of health says 90% of all illness is caused by stress. Fear is stress.

Our Dream here at Sky Blue is for people to live mindfully which means in the moment. Our greatest desire is to give you tools to become  strong and brave, living your life healthier and happier. What are the odds of that, 20 million to 1.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and remember YOU ARE BRAVE AND STRONG-YOU ARE GETTING HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER EVERYDAY IN EVERYWAY!!! Joy to all of you from Jane

60,000 NEW thoughts a day!

Saturdays Class

Your words cannot be  about losing and still think you are going to win, that just doesn’t make any sense at all. You can transform your life by focusing on all that is good, thinking about what is good. I heard a wonderful analogy today, you can take a half-dollar and hold it up to your eye and look at the moon and that half-dollar will block the moon. Now the moon is millions of times larger but all your focus is on the coin. You were looking at the block not at the beauty. We do that all the time when we choose to look at and talk about all the things we don’t want in life and not what we do want to happen.  It has been proven that if we use powerful language, and consciously direct our thoughts and words our awareness will expand and we will appreciate life more. On Saturday August 23rd the 8:30-11:30 class I show you words that have a high power, angel words that will elevate your reality. There are simple tools and techniques that can create new actions and change your destiny by increasing confidence, dissolving fears, and creating better relationships.

Do you know that we have 12,000-60,000 thoughts a day and 98% of them we had yesterday? My new intention is: I choose new things to think, I will think about the next new adventures to appear in my life. It takes the same amount of energy to worry and think about the bad things that could happen as to dream and think about the wonderful things that will  be coming for me!

This week at Sky Blue Dreams Wellness:

Yoga with Jane on Wednesday at 5:30 pm

Come to the  Theosophical Society on Thursday at 6 pm and learn about shamanism.

And Karyn facilitates Qigong  every Friday at 9:30 am

Then the transformational word class on Saturday morning

 NEWS ABOUT THE ITALY  TRIP

For those of you that are planning on going with Jill and I to Italy in May we have good news, we juggled a bit and we will be spending some time in the Chianti country.

If you are looking for it on the map it is between Florence and Rome in the Tuscany hills. you will be able to visit wineries or walk in the hills and take a picnic of bread, wine and cheese. This is also the area that the Americans fought in when they were part of the liberation of Italy in World War II.  I will continue to give you updates as available. I am working on it a bit every day. I just got new travel information and am reserving lodging.  By October 1st I will need to know who is going so I have enough rooms. We still have a few openings. My intention is that this will be something we will all remember as a highlight in our lives.
I hope everyone will have a wonderful week ahead and that I will see some of you a at Yoga or the Saturday class
